Introduction

Color-Countdown

Did you ever go to a New-Years-Eve party? Or to a birthday-party where the birthday was on the next day and people where waiting for midnight? Then you have probably seen it - everybody pulls out a watch and says how much time is left, some people start congratulating while others say there's still time left. Well, here's the solution to that: A colorful countdown, displayable in a browser. At most parties computers are present anyway, so why not just use them as a clock, or better a countdown that everybody can see?

Color-Countdown provides a countdown, a clock and an upcounter written in HTML and JavaScript. It can be configured from within the browser, or hard-configured by putting the values into its configuration-file. Below, you can see a demonstration of the countdown, counting up from the time you loaded this site. Only the first digit of minutes and the seconds are shown, normally the countdown displays HH:MM:SS.

The countdown is emedded using the object-tag whicht your browser does not understand. You can display the demo directly

Please note that Color-Countdown is released under the GNU GPL, which means that it comes with absolutely no warranty!

The countdown in a zip-file: color-countdown-1.00.zip (299 kiB, 306 kB)

The countdown was tested under Mozilla Firefox 1.5, Opera 8.51 and Konqueror 3.5. Saving options did not work under Konqueror, there seems to be an issue with cookies. Internet Explorer did not work due to some JavaScript-bug, but since the debugging-output in IE is so sparse I did not try to correct it.

Although Color-Countdown is free software, you are encouraged to make a donation if you like it.
